How Would China Take Over Asia

The Chinese are starting to become a major player in international affairs. The Chinese have the second biggest economy and second largest military in the world. According to one statistic from cnn.com, the Chinese military budget will be at 233 billion dollars by 2020. When comes to economic growth, China was at 6.9 percent in the second quarter in the year of July 17, 2017, according to cnn.com. Some experts say that the Chinese economy is number one and America is second, but time will only tell who is truly number one and number two. When it comes to Chinese dominance, make no mistake that China is starting to become equal to the United States.

China’s successful rise to power is starting to change the global balance. China has taken the South China Sea and East China Sea, China claims Taiwan under the One Chinese principle, and Tibet. Currently, there is fighting in Bhutan region of Doklam between China and India. According to a report by thequint.com, which could be fake or real that 158 India troops died in the Sikkim center from Chinese rocket fire.

Some fear if the situation becomes worst between the two countries, there will be war. There have been many fights between India and China across the border. The Sino India war in 1962 and India China war of 1967. On the other hand, a war would be complicated because India and China are both nuclear powers. These nations will destroy each other in theory. However, let’s think outside the box and say China might have secret technology that can stop nuclear weapons. For example, China might use their cyber capacities to stop a nuclear bomb from even being launch or other secret weapons to stop nuclear weapons. What will be the Chinese plan, if China decides to conquer India?

If China or India decide to go to war, then China can benefit greatly. If the Chinese do invade India and can conquer the territory and occupy the nation, then China will control the India Ocean. The taking of the India ocean will allow them to start a war with Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Philippines and work its way down taking other Asian nations. The Asian countries under threat would be Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, and Bangladesh. India is one of the most powerful militaries in the region. By removing this threat, it allows China to expand across Asia.

Of course, a war between India and China would be bloody. China has a population of 1.4 billion and India has a population of 1.2 billion. Military spending for the Indian military is at 51-53 billion dollars compared to the Chinese 233 billion dollars.India has 1.3 to 1.4 million active troops. In Total, India has 4,207,250 Military personnel and can call up more with their high population according to globalfirepower.com. China, on the other hand, has a 2,260,000 active personnel and has a total of 3,712,500 military personnel according to globalfirepower.com. Their high population will also allow them to daft more men into battle if there is a major war with India. A war between India and China would cost thousands to millions of lives. China does have the upper hand when it comes to military spending and manpower.

These events might never happen, but should always be prepared for the worst. While America continues not fix problems and fight among each other, the nation of China is becoming stronger by the day. In 4 years they might make their move because the United States should be more economically weaker and the military will be exhausted. America should start being open minded about new ideas and start working together, or we will face the consequences of our leader’s actions.
