Why Mass Shootings Happen In America
Mass Shootings in America are becoming more common by the year. In 2016, Omar Mateen killed 49 people at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. In 2015, Chris Harper Mercer killed ten people at Umpqua Community College. In 2014, Elliot O. Rodger killed six people in Isla Vista, California. In 2007, Seung-Hui Cho killed 32 people at Virginia Tech University.
These mass shootings usually bring political fighting between the two parties. The Democrats support Gun Control, while the Republicans support conceal carry of a firearm for self-defense against these shooters, but this is not a political problem. Most people and politicians fail to read the manifesto of these mass shooters.
Most of these mass shooters have left a message why they have committed these acts. What all these mass shooters have in common is that they are single and never had sex. Most of these individuals suffer from being lonely and lack of social skills to develop a relationship with a women and in some cases maybe a man.
The issue politicians and people jump to conclusions how to solve the problem, but it not a gun control issue. Instead, it is a lack of social skills and sexual activity. Remember society is becoming less physically social by the day. People are not as physically social has they use to be. In the 1980s if you wanted to buy shoes you had to go to the mall, work had to drive there, more people went to Church, Physically had to attend school k-12 & college, and DMV. In today’s world not the case.
In 2017, you can work online, buy stuff online, and never leave your home. You can order food, talk to people on Facebook, but never physically talk to them. In today’s world, we will continue to see a lack of social skills. These lack of social skills will contribute to people not knowing how to date and odd behavior in some social situations. On the other hand, a lack of social skills can also lead to less sexual activity. Pornography does show a lot of sexual activity, but is hard to find that outlet for everyday people to express themselves sexually.
Of course, the solution is to increase social skills in k-12 education and legalize prostitution, so that people can express themselves sexually. The Virginia Tech shooter tried this. He paid an escort to have sex with him, but the escort denied him. Next, he killed 32 people according to lifesitenews.com. The Pulse Night shooter might have been a homosexual that used Radical Islam as a way to cover his gayness. He was spotted at the Gay Night Club and reported to be hitting on men in college. His family had a strong religious background in Islam, which forbids him in engaging in a Homosexual activity. If there were a sexual outlet where he could express himself, maybe he wouldn’t have killed 49 people according to nypost.com. Elliot O Rodger was a person who never dated women or never had sex or kissed women. He was 22 years old and felt life was over. This was the reason why he killed seven people according to latimes.com. When it comes to Chris Harper Mercer, he said had no girlfriend and no life according to nytimes.com & nbcnews.com.
Politicians are just playing people for stupid. In California, they always call for gun control when a mass shooting happens, but this a band-aid on the issue. In reality, the government had failed to teach social skills and build relationships in the k-12 education system. Also, putting laws in place that ban prostitution for adults so people can’t express themselves sexually.
Many European countries have their sex education involved relationship building between the opposite sex. The Dutch have a perfect example of a legal prostitution industry and sex education program according to upfrontpolitics.com. This combination reduces sexually diseases, decrease crime such as domestic violence, rape, and maybe mass shootings.
Instead of focusing on band-aid solutions, we should focus increasing physical social skills in public education to ensure people can date and engage with people. Many European countries do this type of education and do not have the problems of mass shootings compared to America.
